Does my child need experience writing poetry to attend?
No prior poetry or creative writing experience is required. This workshop is designed for students at all skill levels.
What kinds of poetry will students write?
Participants will experiment with different poetic forms and styles using prompts designed to inspire personal observation and creativity.
Will students have to share their poems with the group?
Students are encouraged, but never required, to share their work. Our goal is to create a supportive and welcoming environment for creative expression.
How does feedback work in the workshop?
Students receive thoughtful feedback from facilitators and peers to help them refine their writing and develop revision skills.
Is reading part of the workshop?
Yes. Students will read selections from rich poetry anthologies to learn how published poets use imagery, structure, and voice.
What should students bring each day?
Students should bring a notebook, writing utensils, and a book for independent reading.

The Summer Poetry Workshop will take place July 13-17 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Mountview Middle School, 270 Shrewsbury St, Holden, MA.
